Why organizational change is necessary
Organizations must continually make adjustments to stay relevant, grow and thrive in an ever-changing environment. This can range from adapting business strategies and processes to redefining corporate culture and developing new skills and capabilities. Without change, organizations risk getting stuck in old habits, inefficiencies and outdated practices, leaving them behind in a competitive marketplace.

Challenges in organizational change
Successfully implementing organizational change is not easy. Research shows that as many as 70% of all change initiatives fail, with the majority due to the challenge of changing behavior. Other challenges include employee resistance, lack of commitment, ineffective communication, and the lack of a clear vision and leadership.

What is needed for successful organizational change
Successful organizational change requires a well-thought-out approach and involvement at all levels of the organization. It is essential to formulate a clear vision and strategy, create support among all stakeholders, ensure effective communication and actively involve employees in the change process and implement it from the top down.

LIGHTHORSE guides organizations in achieving alignment, execution and renewal.

Alignment refers to an organization’s ability to align its strategic goals, vision and values with all aspects of its operations and employees. This includes identifying core values, setting measurable objectives and creating a culture of engagement and collaboration. Execution is about actually realizing the strategic goals and plans of the organization. LIGHTHORSE helps to translate strategies into action. Renewal is about an organization’s ability to continuously adapt and innovate in response to changing internal and external circumstances.

In the transformation, we jointly identify the most important behavioral changes to enable the human side of transformation to take place and ensure that it is sustainable.
We use various diagnostic tools to help the organization understand the starting point, including the organizational health scan, values assessments, structured in-depth interviews, Systems Thinking and Theory U.
In this way we facilitate the transformation of purpose, purpose, culture, leaders and capabilities, not just isolated or incremental changes.

By focusing on alignment, execution and renewal, a healthy and resilient organization is created. This results in improved performance in the short term and also lays the foundation for sustainable long-term success.
LIGHTHORSE delivers measurable results.

What is the condition for a successful change?

Successfully completing an organizational change requires several conditions, including:

Clear leadership and commitment
Leaders must communicate a clear vision, be actively involved in the change process and lead by example.

Open communication and transparency
It is essential to communicate openly about the reasons for the change, the vision for the future and the progress of the process. This creates trust and commitment among employees.

Culture of change
Organizations must foster a culture that is open to change, learning and continuous improvement. This includes encouraging a proactive attitude to change and embracing new ideas.

Employee involvement
Employees must be involved in the change process through communication, training, participation and sharing of responsibilities. This increases acceptance and support for the change.

Adequate resources and support
Organizations must provide the necessary resources, time and support to successfully implement the change. This includes budgets, training, technology support and external expertise if necessary.

Flexibility and adaptability: Change is often dynamic and may encounter obstacles and challenges along the way. The ability to be flexible and make adjustments to the plan is critical to success.

Continuous evaluation and feedback: Regularly evaluating change progress and collecting feedback from employees helps to make adjustments and identify obstacles that need to be overcome.

Sustainability and assurance: It is important to ensure that long-term changes are secured in the organizational culture and processes. This includes creating systems for monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement.

In the multi-day sessions, the variety in the program of meditation, constellations, breathing exercises and the horses gave me a deep insight into my emotional life and that has brought me much more balance. Previously I mainly used my head and now it is more a combination with my heart and gut. The individual journeys with ‘the mushrooms’ are also enlightening and groundbreaking, where I have always felt safe and secure.

Director/Supervisory board - Public sector

Last year we did several team sessions with Lighthorse. Those sessions have been instrumental in the transformation of our team. Through the various exercises (with and without horses…) we have made great strides towards a “reliable herd”. In this way we have strengthened trust in each other and formed the basis for our Team 2.0.

Director - Financial sector

I can say with full confidence that it was a wonderful experience. Not only for me, but also for my team. It is a relief to experience the practical aspects of reflection with horses, instead of having to spend hours leafing through books about natural leadership.

Director Brand Communications Media & CSR

Originally started with leadership training and subsequently a major organizational transformation, we soon saw great benefits for employees with mental problems or challenges. Not only because we can significantly reduce the waiting time for our employees compared to regular mental health care, but especially because we see great benefits and results in Lighthorse’s practical approach.

HR advisor - Retail sector

We see and hear from our employees that they are able to achieve and secure real behavioral changes relatively quickly. This allows them to remain, or quickly return, to the social rhythm and can work constructively on themselves and their situation. This is not only due to the efforts of the horses, but certainly also to the highly experienced coaches, psychologists and experts. Definitely recommended for those who are ready for a real new start!

I have great respect and appreciation for the efforts, dedication and love that Sandra and Alwine have given. In addition, there is a very impressive collection of knowledge and skills that are covered. The result is proof of how good it was for me. I almost gave it a 10, but I have learned that a 10 does not always have to be the best?

Managing Director

Very intensive, valuable, educational and beautiful, it exceeded my expectations. The combination of theory, practice (exercises) and relaxation immediately produces valuable behavioral change (insights).

COO

I have gained insight into my own strengths and the scope to use them in my organization. I see immediate results on my first working day after the program. I definitely got more out of it than I expected. It is a serious program and a real life-changing experience.

Strategic Project leader - Education sector

Very positive! Varied program, with theory and various forms of deepening and exercise, including with horses. Surprising and safe, positive session with truffles, had doubts about doing this but am glad I did. Above all, it was effective: I really feel that we have achieved breakthroughs.

CFO

This wasn’t just coaching for me. More of a final rescue. If I have to describe everything I have learned, I would be better off writing a book. Let’s tell them that I have a completely different perspective on life.

Sales employee

You cannot get a more direct form of feedback, because you immediately see the effect of your own thinking, feeling and actions in the horses’ response.

Didn’t know what to expect at first. Was even sceptical. However, that disappeared very quickly when I noticed what it did and brought to me. Heavy at times but very enlightening.

Locations manager

For me the combination of looking back at your old pains and script and planning for the future with clear goals and objectives really helps the lessons learnt land very well. I am still using these lessons everyday, Im aware more and more of the insights I have taken away from Lighthorse. I can recommend this to anyone who is serious about wanting to transform certain behaviours or patterns. Its not the easy way but it is the best way I have experienced 🙂

CEO

The Lighthorse program has helped me a lot with my issues. For me it was a good combination of conversations, setups and working with the horses.

Manager Continuous Improvement - Technical sector

The coaching I had so far was one-on-one and then an hour, the intensity and the program he connected made a huge difference.

Executives and senior leiders about ‘Leading the Way’

“Leading the Way” was an initiative that took place between 2013 and 2015, where LIGHTHORSE worked closely with 100 executives and senior leaders from various industries to gather insights on what it takes to be successful and make a sustainable difference in a rapid changing environment.
The business environment in the Netherlands between was characterized by economic challenges, mainly due to the aftermath of the 2008 global financial crisis. During this period, the Netherlands was in a recession, characterized by a shrinking economy, rising unemployment rates and general economic uncertainty.

We interviewed these leaders via Skype, having in-depth conversations about the challenges and opportunities they faced, as well as the strategies they used to thrive in an ever-changing world.

We have made a selection of these valuable conversations and recorded highlights in 3 to 4 minute videos. These videos provide a glimpse into the insights, experiences and best practices of these leaders.

Whether embracing change, driving innovation, cultivating resilience, or creating a culture of engagement and empowerment, the “Leading the Way” videos provide valuable lessons and inspiration and remain timely and relevant .
Below is a selection of these 100 interviews.
